Small Beginnings

Every month, some new opportunities arise for BeaconLight.

Many of these are not massive orders, or contacts from large partner organisations. They are from individuals serving the Lord where they live and work. We may never meet them until heaven, but the Lord knows them and uses them.

We must never overlook individuals who serve Jesus nor minimise their gospel work, because it is small.  BeaconLight wants to be available to help and support anybody who is sharing the gospel.

'Small beginnings' is the way the Lord usually works. But when you are just starting, feeling inexperienced and with few resources, it is a real help to have a friend who is supportive. We are glad to be alongside and encourage these brave Christians to get going and trust the Lord for the outcomes.

Many people are frightened about starting something new, particularly if it is outside their comfort zone. But all gospel mission is outside our comfort and control - it is the Lord's work ... He is in control and He will sustain His servants.

But when He calls, He also equips and provides. It is the story of all the faithful characters in the Bible; and it must be our story too if we are to fulfil our calling.

It is not our ability that matters. He has the power and wisdom to start and sustain us until He achieves His purposes through us. He just wants our willing availability.

The Lord says, "Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin ... " (Zechariah 4:10 NLT).
