Absolutely True

It fascinates me how language is changing in our liberal, free-thinking culture in the UK. Having thrown out our Christian heritage, and God's Word as our ground for morality and community ethics, proclaiming the individual's right to self-determination - and that there are no limits to what is right nor wrong - there is a new hunger for certainty.

Despite the many benefits of AI, it is easy to fake a photo, invent a work of fiction, submit academic theses, and create false news. Influencers everywhere are monetising the gullibility of millions and nobody knows what is real any more.

This generation's hunger and confusion is betrayed by the way they try to convince others to take them seriously. Here are a few such words that you may have noticed: Sure, Totally, 100%, Indeed, Definitely, No problem, Without fail, Without question, Right on, Dead cert, Not lying, Legit, Straight up, Dead right and Absolutely.

Truth, that is real truth, is absolute; and, increasingly, people are wanting to find it. They are also wanting to find out who they really are. All of a sudden, confused young people are turning up in our churches; and teens are searching for authentic truth on social media.

The gospel offers that truth. A real man who lived and spoke like God, hated by the religious power-holders, whipped and beaten before being crucified. That real man gave up his own life, and then had the power to take it up again, and was seen alive by hundreds of people. The gospel explanation is that Jesus accepted the wrath of God for the rebellion of each one of us, so that all who believe in Him will be forgiven, not perish, but have eternal life ... absolutely!

This Easter - amid the ephemera of chicks and bunnies, chocolate and roast lamb - is a great opportunity to proclaim the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

The key to reality is the resurrection. This is one of the best attested facts of history - and astonishingly well evidenced - see evidence.beaconlight.co.uk. If the resurrection is true, then God has the real power to forgive real sin, and give new real life to those who are alive but really spiritually dead.

That is the news this generation needs. It is the reason for BeaconLight - working and praying with mission partners so that people all over the world might come to know the real Jesus, and find out who they really are as they find new life in Christ.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer and financial support as we tell the truth to a truth-hungry generation.
